It is always a good occasion for a Bloody Mary. The popular beverage can be served during brunch, at an elegant cocktail party or on poker night with the guys.

This classic drink continues to be a favorite. Everyone can add their own special twist to this simple beverage concoction. It is as easy as following a Bloody Mary recipe.

A Bloody Mary is best prepared with quality, fresh ingredients. The beverage basics should remain the same, yet the taste can range. It all depends on everyone’s unique recipe.

Every Bloody Mary will include Vodka and tomato juice. This combination is what gives the drink its unique taste. Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice are then added to incorporate its distinct sweet and sour flavor. Top the beverage off with garnish and a splash of Tabasco sauce for spice. How hot you want your drink depends on you.

It is important to properly measure out the ingredients to ensure you create a Bloody Mary. The drink can quickly turn sour if guidelines are not adhered.

A proper Bloody Mary recipe will incorporate 1 ½ ounces of Vodka. It is advised to use the finest liquor and freshest ingredients for best flavor. Then measure out ½ cup of tomato juice and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Next add the Worcestershire and Tabasco sauces for seasoning. How much you use is up to you – add as much as you need to please your taste buds. You will top off the drink with the appropriate garnish including a celery stick and a wedge of lemon.

Once all the ingredients are assembled, combine then all together and shake until blended. Add salt and pepper to taste. The mixture should then be strained to eliminate excess pulp.

A Bloody Mary should be smooth and served over ice for best flavor. You now have a delicious, refreshing beverage.
